Holiday Bars in Atlanta

Mulled wine and themed cocktails, extra festive decor, and bartenders kitted out in tacky sweaters, there’s no shortage of cheer at these Atlanta holiday bars and pop-ups!

Those whacky holiday bar and pop-ups are back in Atlanta hoping to get people into the spirit of the season. This year’s crop of bars and pop-ups throughout ATL promise plenty of good cheer (and themed cocktails), walls and ceilings trimmed in extra festive decor, and the return of a beloved holiday market influenced by those found in Germany during Christmas.

Here’s the latest list of bars, restaurants, and menus transforming for the holidays around Atlanta.

  • On December 1, the Marietta cocktail bar transforms into “Christmas Vacation” to include an explosion of lights, decor, and movie-themed cocktails on the menu. There’s even a photo booth featuring Clarke Griswald and Uncle Eddie. Look for the return of the annual Not a Hot Toddy cocktail competition on the patio, too.

  • Both the Ponce City Market and Buckhead Village locations of Biltong Bar become the Blitzen Room for the holidays, complete with festive decor and cocktails, including the popular chartreuse hot chocolate and frozen eggnog from years past. Opening mid-November.

  • Head to Foxtrot in Midtown for a National Lampoon-themed bar inspired by Clark Griswold and the movie Christmas Vacation. Expect milk punch and cocktails, including a beer and a shot combination called Where’s the Tylenol? Next door at Foxtrot’s sister bar, Tiki Tango, it’s all about Whoville from How the Grinch Stole Christmas paired with hot buttered rum and snacks themed after the movie. Even the parking lot for the Midtown bars features a holiday pop-up with cocktails, outdoor games, and fire pits.

  • Starting November 26 though New Year’s Day, Midtown gastropub Publico becomes Santa’s Pub decked out from floor to ceiling with holiday lights and festive decor. Expect holiday movie-themed cocktails and food here during the season, like Buddy the Elf’s spaghetti breakfast and build-your-own giant gingerbread person. Patio available.

  • The Buckhead bar transforms into the Blind Elf for the holidays this year. Expect twinkle lights, festive decor, and holiday-themed snacks and cocktails on the menu. Look for boozy sips like hot apple cider infused with whiskey or a rye cocktail with peppermint syrup paired with eggnog shortbread, Mrs. Claus lemon squares, and roasted Bartlett pear and pancetta hand pies.   • Starting November 26, Willow Bar at the Kimpton Sylvan Hotel in Buckhead becomes a holiday winter wonderland. The garden bar will feature igloos channeling ski lodge vibes, twinkle lights and festive decor, and a menu of hot cocktails and themed drinks paired with hearty cold weather snacks.

  • Miracle on Monroe is back at Tapa Tapa at Midtown Promenade, starting November 26. Atlanta’s original holiday bar includes floor-to-ceiling decorations and lights, seasonal and Christmas movie-themed cocktails, and celebratory light bites and cookies. Look for live music and drag shows here on Friday and Saturday evenings, too. This holiday bar is 21+ and requires proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test upon entry. Two-hour table limit and 20-percent service charge added to each bill.

  • Beginning November 26, 12 Cocktail Bar on the roof at Ponce City Market fills its cocktail menu full of festive drinks for the holidays, including bourbon-spiked eggnog.
