Atlanta's First Michelin Ceremony Set for October 24th
Is going to a restaurant with a Michelin star on your bucket list?
On the evening of October 24, chefs will receive exclusive invitations to the Rialto Center for the Arts, where they will discover whether their restaurants have been honored with a MICHELIN Star or any other prestigious MICHELIN distinctions.
Michelin announced in July that it would be adding Atlanta to its guide, just a month after announcing that Colorado would also be added. Previously the North American Michelin guide only included California, Chicago, Miami/Orlando/Tampa, Florida, New York, Washington, D.C., Toronto and Vancouver.
"Atlanta is a culinary powerhouse, with a long list of styles and flavors for foodies to enjoy," said Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the MICHELIN Guide, in a press release. "Atlanta is brimming with innovation and talent, which is evident in the dining scene."
Which Atlanta, Georgia restaurants will get Michelin stars?
The ceremony on Oct. 24, 2023 at the Rialto Center for the Arts will be the first public announcement of restaurants that earn a Michelin star.
According to the press release from Michelin, the restaurant selections are based on the guide's methodology using five criteria: quality products, the harmony of flavors, the mastery of cooking techniques, the voice and personality of the chef reflected in the cuisine and consistency between each visit and throughout the menu. Restaurants are inspected several times a year.
Several publications, like Eater Atlanta, have listed predictions for which restaurants will earn the honors.
