Historic Kodak Building in Atlanta Engulfed in Flames
A devastating fire tore through the iconic Kodak building on Ponce de Leon Avenue in Midtown Atlanta on Thursday evening, causing significant damage to the historic structure. The blaze, which also affected the adjacent former Atlanta Eagle gay bar building, sent plumes of smoke billowing into the city skyline, prompting a massive response from the Atlanta Fire and Rescue Department.
Kodak Building | Ponce Development
Originally constructed in 1905 as an Italian Renaissance-style residence, the Kodak Building underwent commercial alterations in the 1940s to house the Star Photo camera shop. Its recognizable facade and iconic "KODAK" sign have become landmarks along Ponce de Leon Avenue.
