HISTORY

MET Atlanta, originally known as “The Candler Warehouse,” was built in 1914 to aid struggling Georgia farmers. During WW2, the buildings launched their second act as a military manufacturing facility. In the second half of the 20th century, we served as a hub for distribution. And now, in the 21st century, we’re a beacon for makers, creators, artists, and more.
