Downtown Atlanta is getting a major makeover just in time for the 2026 World Cup. Centennial Yards, a multi-billion dollar urban renewal project currently underway, is transforming a 50-acre chunk of downtown into a dynamic, mixed-use playground.
Centennial Yards is creating a true community hub, with apartments in downtown Atlanta, shops, entertainment venues, and office spaces all cozied up next to each other. Imagine swanky residences overlooking buzzing plazas where you can grab a coffee, catch a concert, or maybe even (whisper it) run into your favorite celebrity.

One of the hottest developments is the Southeast's largest entertainment district, the future heart and soul of Centennial Yards. Breaking ground this summer, this 8-acre playground will boast a 14-story hotel, a 160,000 square foot entertainment venue (think concerts, sporting events, conferences, etc), and a one-of-a-kind "eatertainment concept" spread over 70,000 square feet. While the main structures will be ready by 2026, with an eye on the World Cup, expect the full tenant experience to unfold in 2027.
Later this year, construction will begin on a 236 unit downtown Atlanta apartment building. Plus, a part of the old Norfolk Southern headquarters is getting a makeover into a charming 166-room hotel. Both will have shops and restaurants on the ground floor, and they're expected to be finished by 2026 or 2027.
There are already two 18-story towers rising towards the sky. These architectural beauties will open their doors in 2025, offering stunning views alongside 292 luxurious hotel rooms (managed by CIM Group) and 304 high-end apartments in downtown Atlanta.
